QNB: Travel the World
A brilliant production about using the QNB card to travel the world and earn air miles. PTOT Films brought synima in to handle the AI side of the production.
The challenge
Everything was shot on blue screen. The main challenge was generating AI backgrounds that matched each shot’s camera angle and movement.
The film was made just before Nano Banana arrived, and long before Seedance or Seedream. Many of the tools we rely on now didn’t exist yet.
The process
We started in Midjourney and switched to Nano Banana as soon as it became available, alongside Runway. Images were upscaled in Topaz and touched up in Photoshop.
After that it was prompt and repeat, which meant burning through literally thousands of images and credits to get each background right.
Takeaway
The film still holds up today, and I that’s down to its hybrid approach. It's actually a personal favourite of mine, I thoroughly enjoyed working closely with Ozan and PTOT in general, there were some steep learning curves and figuring it out on the job as it was all relatively new territory.
I feel spoilt today as we have far better tools, so a job like this would be much simpler today, though I'm sure like any job would still throw up its own complications.
